The School Play Disaster
The fifth-grade class was preparing for their annual drama production of “The Wizard of Oz.” Emma was chosen to play Dorothy, while her best friend Michael was cast as the Scarecrow. Everything was going perfectly during rehearsals until one week before the show. Suddenly, Emma caught a terrible cold and lost her voice completely. The drama teacher, Ms. Roberts, was worried they might have to cancel the performance. Michael suggested that his cousin Sofia, who knew all the lines from watching their rehearsals, could step in as Dorothy. Although Sofia was nervous at first, she agreed to help. The whole class worked extra hard that week, staying after school to help Sofia practice. On the night of the performance, both Emma and Sofia were there – Emma cheering from the audience, and Sofia confidently playing Dorothy on stage. The show turned out to be even better than anyone expected, and the principal announced it was the best school play she had ever seen. From that day on, the class learned an important lesson about teamwork and helping each other.
