I had a button, shiny and round,
But now it’s lost, nowhere to be found.
It popped off my favorite shirt one day,
And now it seems it’s gone astray.

I searched high and low, near and far,
In every corner, under every star.
Was it hiding in my messy drawer?
Or did it bounce onto the floor?

Maybe the cat played a sneaky trick,
Hiding it under a cushion so thick.
Or perhaps it rolled into a crack,
Oh dear, I wish I could get it back!

But wait, what’s this I spy with glee?
A spare button hidden up on the tree!
Now my shirt is whole once more,
No more worries, no button lore.
